There certainly weren’t a million moms in attendance, but there was a respectable turnout in Washington, D.C. today for the #MillionMomsMarch, sponsored by Mothers for Justice United — founded by the mother of Dontre Hamilton, shot 14 times after allegedly striking a police officer with his own baton — and the Coalition for Justice.

Ostensibly organized “to stand against police brutality and racial injustice,” the march included plenty of signs calling for justice in Palestine and for revolution in the United States.

Meanwhile, just a bit to the north, the #BmoreYouthRise march included a stop at the new Freddie Gray memorial.
