Hacked? Labor Department economist under review for tweet claiming Christians vote for Nazis

The Washington Times reports Monday that Bureau of Labor Statistics economist Elizabeth Ashack is undergoing review after a tweet sent from her Twitter account accused Christians of voting for Nazis, appending the #BoycottIndiana hashtag and warning that “it will not end well for them.”

All sorts of strange things are happening with that account. The tweet was quickly deleted, Ashack’s Twitter bio was amended to remove her federal affiliation, and then she claimed she had been hacked.

Will that limp Weiner defense hold up any better for Ashack that it did for him? It’s not likely.

A spokeswoman for the Labor Department told The Blaze that Ashack is still employed by the department and had no estimate of how long the “review” might take.
