The news has left more than a few in shock — that it took this long for Radio Shack to declare bankruptcy.
I’m shocked RadioShack lasted as long as it did.
— Anthony De Rosa (@AntDeRosa) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin @ReutersBiz that took WAY longer than I expected.
— Richard Getz (@RichGetz) February 5, 2015
I'm stunned it took this long for RadioShack to file for bankruptcy.
— Jeff (@saintwarrick) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin it's a wonder it lasted this long, terribly managed company.
— Eric Schwarz (@AltoonaBound) February 5, 2015
To be honest I am surprised it hasn't happened a long time ago. @michellemalkin @ReutersBiz
— JJBOOGIE (@therealjjboogie) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin @ReutersBiz Wow, I didn't even think there were Radio Schacks left. End of an era.
— Michael (@Michael2014abc) February 5, 2015
@mdc I really think the story is that radioshack lasted at least 5 years longer than anyone expected it to
— Shane (@shaneferro) February 5, 2015
RadioShack was still in business?
— Michael Yu (@CIYu17) February 5, 2015
So long, Radio Shack. I don’t know how you made it this long.
— Josh Centers (@jcenters) February 5, 2015
"RadioShack files for bankruptcy approximately 45 years later than most expected."

A lot of people are declaring a sad farewell to an old friend.
#RIP Radio Shack. Your old catalogs were like pr0n to a budding geek back in the day.
— Shane MacDougall (@tactical_intel) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin @ReutersBiz That makes me so sad! I love Radio Shack! It is my friend!

#RadioShack just fired for chapter 11, one of the last remnants of my hacker childhood is going away…
— David Maynor (@Dave_Maynor) February 5, 2015
Holler at me if you remember those 100 in 1 electronic kits #RadioShack

— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin @ReutersBiz where the hell am I going to find that ONE adapter thingy that only Radio Shack has?
— Psix Pack (@PsixPack) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin A piece of my teenage years gone. I bought my first set of floor speakers at RS. Loved that place as a teen. @ReutersBiz
— Wally (@Zoomm01) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin @ReutersBiz Oh bummer! I really liked that store chain.
— Jody Sanchez (@JlszoomJody) February 5, 2015
@michellemalkin I recall the old days with the battery card – you could get one or two batteries free per week…or something…#signoftimes
— Christian Collins (@mediachristian4) February 5, 2015
I bought some batteries there once. Also, a cool two-way pager when I was in high school. Could only message my brother, though.
— Jason Cipriani (@MrCippy) February 5, 2015
But we were so cool two-way messaging on pagers in school we didn’t even care. Thanks for the memories, RadioShack.
— Jason Cipriani (@MrCippy) February 5, 2015
Bought my first electronic chess at #RadioShack. Still have it. RS was the go-to place growing up. Last few decades, not so much, though.
— J. Gryphon Shafer (@gryphonshafer) February 5, 2015
RadioShack closes after 100 years of operating. I remember walking in their store and just hanging out as a kid. So sad. #goodbyeradioshack
— Mike Khromachou (@mike_k94) February 5, 2015
Sad to hear @RadioShack has declared bankruptcy. The TRS-80 was my first computer and started me on the track to computer science.
— Lance Fortnow (@fortnow) February 5, 2015
Can we even imagine a world without Radio Shack?
Good lord Radio Shack. Where am I going to get my batteries now?
— Doug Mataconis (@dmataconis) February 5, 2015
