The talented crew who put together the gigantic walking lion on which Katy Perry made her halftime show entrance Sunday must be shaking their heads in disbelief today, struggling to come to grips with the fact that their mechanical marvel was upstaged by an anonymous and possibly intoxicated dancer in a thrift-store shark costume. Heck, even Perry herself hasn’t inspired a fraction of the social media buzz of overnight sensation “Left Shark.”

Yo, we’re gonna let the rest of you finish, but Glenn Beck tweeted Monday that Michelle Malkin had one of the best Left Shark tweets of all time.

Just kidding. We would have seen smoke rising out of the gills.

PETA gets it wrong as usual; in case they didn’t know, those were people in shark costumes, hence Perry finishing the song uneaten.

That didn’t take long; Left Shark has been unmasked.
