You might remember Twitchy’s 2013 coverage of Colorado Rep. Joe Salazar, who argued strenuously against legislation that would allow concealed carry on campus, preferring instead that young college women rely on call boxes, rape whistles and campus “safe zones” for their safety. Women, he explained, might feel like they’re in trouble when they may actually not be and begin firing indiscriminately out of fear.
It’s attitudes like Salazar’s that make it so satisfying to see conservative women taking on high profile roles at this year’s SHOT Show, held this week in Las Vegas.
Katie Pavlich, Townhall editor and author of “Assault and Flattery: The Truth About the Left and Their War on Women,” discussed the Outdoor Channel’s upcoming documentary “Safe Haven” and its message that “gun-free zones” are anything but, leaving the average citizen vulnerable.
Also on hand was Dana Loesch of TheBlaze TV and author of “Hands Off My Gun: Defeating the Plot to Disarm America.”
Look at that line Loesch attracted to the Project ChildSafe booth! Project ChildSafe, by the way, promotes safe firearms handling and storage through education and distributes free firearm safety kits through local law enforcement agencies.
