'Simple diagram' shows how DC's concealed carry applications will begin this Thursday

In case you missed it, Washington D.C. City Council voted unanimously late last month to allow visitors and residents in the District to carry concealed weapons. The new regulations didn’t go into place right away, though. As Katie Pavlich wrote for Townhall.com, “Sounds like great news, but regulations for carrying and licensing still need to be written by D.C. police and will surely make the process nearly impossible.”

It looks like concealed carry in Washington, D.C., is getting very close to becoming a reality, although some still wonder about the process of securing a permit.

UnfilteredPatriot.com has more on the application process and the limitations still in place.

This isn’t one of those situations where the law says one thing but the actual process is much less restrictive. In fact, [Police Chief Cathy] Lanier has been quite clear that very few permits will be handed out. She went on record as saying that merely living in a dangerous neighborhood would not qualify as a reason. Nor would being the victim of multiple crimes. Instead, only specific threats would be entertained as reason enough to issue a concealed-carry permit.
