A group of several dozen pro-Gaza protesters gathered outside Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Sunday to protest an exhibition game with Maccabi Tel Aviv and pro-Israel comments made by coach David Blatt this summer.

Blatt, the first Israeli to be appointed an NBA head coach, said in an interview with Globes that Operation Protective Edge was “Israel’s most justified war I can remember in recent years. I’m really sorry about what’s happening in Gaza, but there’s no doubt that we had to act there, so that Israel will have quiet there once and for all, and we can live in peace.”

No one told "coach" Blatt to bring politics into sports. He did this to himself. #Palestine

Unintimidated, Coach Blatt and the group Friends of IDF this morning hosted a reception at the venue honoring a dozen IDF soldiers wounded in action.
