White House doing a bit of explaining over Obama remark "we don't have a strategy yet" re #ISIS, #ISIL
— Lynn Sweet (@lynnsweet) August 28, 2014
President Obama’s sound bite of the day, “We don’t have a strategy yet” on dealing with ISIS, certainly caught the attention of the White House press corps as well as Twitter. So, supposing the president just chose his words poorly, what is the administration’s strategy to confront ISIS?
POTUS hints that air strikes in Syria are not imminent saying "news reports are getting further ahead" than where WH is in its planning

On "we don't have a strategy remark" from POTUS, sr WH official said POTUS talking about air strikes in Syria. Not an overall strategy.
— Jim Acosta (@Acosta) August 28, 2014

In his remarks today, POTUS was explicit – as he has been in the past – about the comprehensive strategy we'll use to confront ISIL threat.

@PressSec Well, that settles it then. Glad to hear it. We'd sure really hate to hear him when he's vague, noncommittal, and unfocused.

WH probably already considering how to roll POTUS back out to “fix” fact that he admitted he doesn’t have a strategy on ISIS

Bet the press corps will see/hear from POTUS again in nxt 24 hrs to try and "clean up" his “no strategy” admission.

For real, though.
WH can try to walk it back if they want, but it's clear President Obama doesn't have a strategy for dealing w/ ISIS threat. We need one.
