Dillon Taylor, 20, was reportedly unarmed when he was shot and killed outside a Salt Lake City, Utah, convenience store August 11. A group of demonstrators gathered across the street from Salt Lake City police headquarters Monday to protest, an event covered by the Salt Lake Tribune and apparently no one else.
@TheRevAl Why hasn't the media given #DillonTaylor murder by a police officer unarmed & wearing headphones attn? He has civil rights too.

People need to be just as angry over #DillonTaylor murder by a blk officer in Utah. He wasn't armed!

Not to put too fine a point on it: #DillonTaylor's death is another case of over-zealousness by police. That is clearly a wide issue.

Im going to be subversive by popularizing the hashtags; #DillonTaylor & #SouthSaltLake to see if theres a such thing as equal media-coverage

Where is media outrage for #DillonTaylor. Looks like Utah community knows how to remain calm and wait for truth and justice #FergusonRiot

Ah now I understand. I wondered why #DillonTaylor wasn't in the news – he was white, cop who shot (I mean EXECUTED, right?) him was black.

Update/correction:
The original version of this post stated that the officer involved in this incident is black. We have received an unconfirmed tip stating that the officer is in fact part Hispanic, not black. We have revised our headline to remove any reference to the officer’s race.
