In a previous attempt to appear friendly to the Second Amendment, Kentucky Secretary of State and candidate for Senate Alison Grimes posted a photo of herself target shooting — although without any eye or ear protection.
Apparently unwilling to repeat that gaffe, Grimes has found another photo in which she’s properly equipped to shoot a firearm, juxtaposed with a pic of Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell preparing to present an antique rifle to the retiring Sen. Tom Coburn at CPAC.
Hey @Team_Mitch, there's only one straight shooter in this race #kysen pic.twitter.com/IjvGf1t5cv

The eye and ear protection might be in place, but that doesn’t mean the new ad won’t backfire.
@AlisonForKY @Team_Mitch I wince whenever I see a candidate carrying a firearm, whether they're wearing a blue tie or pink ear protectors.

@AlisonForKY @RichardAngwin @Team_Mitch You know what? Seeing any candidate with a gun in a photo kind of turns my stomach. #pandering

@RichardAngwin I wish they'd quit romanticizing guns altogether. These pols with gun pics are vomitous!
