As Twitchy reported, the media’s self-absorption rate was off the charts this morning as recently fired New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson delivered the commencement address at Wake Forest. Not among the 1,000+ media reporters watching the speech was “This American Life” host Ira Glass, who surprised New York magazine by knowing nothing about it.

“Am I, like, the only person in New York who hasn’t heard this?” Glass asked. Nor was he aware that Abramson was the Times’ first female editor. “Honestly, like, I’m a superfan of the New York Times, but I know nothing about how they put it together and I really don’t care.”
