The Federal Election Commission has asked Sen. Harry Reid’s campaign for more information on more than $16,000 in “holiday gifts” given by the senator to donors and supporters in 2013. The law requires that itemized disbursements include a brief statement or description of why each disbursement was made.
I asked @SenatorReid's staff Monday if she was a relation, got stonewalled/diverted. But it is (@STetreaultDC found out, too). Looks awful.

Jon Ralston of Ralston Reports confirmed that the money went to Ryan Elisabeth Reid, Harry Reid’s granddaughter, who is a jewelry vendor in Berkeley, Calif.
Ralston concludes that even if the FEC does “its usual dithering and wrist-slapping, many will wonder why Reid needs to use campaign funds for holiday gifts to give to supporters and donors and why he enriched his granddaughter in so doing.”
Uh oh. Senator Harry Reid was caught with his hand in the cookie jar… *slaps wrist* http://t.co/YKCPqr2O10
