As tempting as it is to answer that question right away, it might help to have some context. According to the Huffington Post’s Sabrina Siddiqui, Rep. Nancy Pelosi was reacting to a comment by House Speaker John Boehner regarding immigration reform.
“There’s widespread doubt about whether this administration can be trusted to enforce our laws,” Boehner told reporters earlier in the day, “and it’s going to be difficult to move any immigration legislation until that changes.”
“That’s not a reason not to do an immigration bill, that’s an excuse not to do it,” Pelosi replied. No enforcement from the executive branch? Sounds like a good reason to us.
So … what’s that about packing up and going home again?
