British Ambassador Peter Millett managed to ruffle feathers with an off-the-cuff tweet ranking Sudan’s Khartoum airport as the world’s worst. The tweet was picked up by the Sudan Tribune, further spreading outrage.
This from a diplomat! MT @PeterMillett1:Whch is ur worst #airport in z wrld?4me #Khartoum Last wk it was hot, dirty &devoid of any info/welcm

@simsimt uh oh…tweeting that is unbecoming an ambassador.

@simsimt @LibyaLiberty A very undiplomatic thing to say, especially from an Ambassador.

@LibyaLiberty yeah, it's been a few days & caused a mini controversy here. Not a big deal but still a silly thing to say as diplomat

@PeterMillett1 It is insensitive towards RSS to rate Khartoum worst airport in the world. Juba is the city deserving this honourific title!

For all I care Millet can go to hell. If he doesn't like khartoum airport maybe he shouldn't come to #sudan altogether.

Having created an international incident of sorts, Millett deleted the tweet. Not everyone disagreed with his review of Khartoum’s airport, though.

@ChemistRunner @simsimt for me it was Tripoli and/or Benghazi airport – b/c of the smeared bood on the walls, bullet holes,& etc.
