TMZ is reporting that Paul Walker, star of the “Fast and Furious” films, died today in a car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Walker, 40, and a passenger reportedly were killed when their Porsche slammed into a post or tree and burst into flames. TMZ reports that Walker “was in Santa Clarita for a car show to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort, and had been taking friends out for rides in his new Porsche GT.”

Like many celebrities, Walker had been the subject of death hoaxes before, making the news even more difficult to believe.
