Shocker! As the New York Daily News reported today, pop singer Britney Spears, in an Twitter Q&A on Tuesday, named writer and — gasp — preacher Max Lucado as her favorite author. Scratch that; make that, “homophobic pastor.” The Daily News as evidence quotes an interview in which Lucado said that God “categorically opposes” same-sex marriage and that it “violates his plan for man-woman permanence.”
Spears, meanwhile, has been a “vocal advocate of gay marriage.”
If there is a backlash among Spears’ fans, it’s difficult to find on Twitter; either that or fans are too outraged to post yet.

Apparently Britney Spears is a fan of Max Lucado and his books. Hmm, she needs to pay more attention to his writing.

The film version of Lucado’s “The Christmas Candle” will be released on Nov. 22. Spears’ new single “Work Bitch” is out now.
