Michael Bloomberg thanks Mexico for taxing the sodas America just won't ban

Most thought that Michael Bloomberg’s job as mayor of New York City was to run New York City, but the mayor himself knows his job is saving lives worldwide. Today he’s expressing his thanks to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto for carrying on his crusade against sugary drinks south of the border. One currently proposed bill would impose a 20 percent tax on sugary soda.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the tax could raise $2 billion a year in revenue, which would “be earmarked to install public water fountains and improve access to clean drinking water.” Yeah, that’s where all the money will go.
