As Twitchy reported earlier, the State Department scrambled to clear any remaining diplomats from Yemen today after U.S. drone strikes reportedly killed at least four suspected al-Qaida militants. Now, additional reports of drone strikes in the southeastern governorate of Shabwa are emerging alongside a BBC report that U.S. Special Forces are on their way. The closing of U.S. embassies was well telegraphed for the world, so we can only hope this latest news won’t endanger U.S. troops.
In a couple of hours, President Obama’s taped interview will air in which he advises Americans to be “prudent” in their international travel, advising them to check State Dept. websites for any travel warnings.
Don’t worry: the president is on top of it.
