Could it be that the sensitivity training is starting to kick in? David Frum was among the very first to see the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre as a great platform for some political snark, tweeting, “Obviously, we need to lower the age limit for concealed carry so toddlers can defend themselves.” Frum held off slightly longer to politicize today’s shooting in Santa Monica, Calif., apparently throttling back the sarcasm to a level appropriate for around six shooting victims. Anyone else want in on this?

@davidfrum They were enjoying their freedom. American exceptionalism.

If Frum took the extra time to hone his point, we’re afraid we still missed it. Was there some point at which we had the option to scrap the Second Amendment to prevent today’s shooting?
@davidfrum – the important thing is to make the political points before the bodies are cool. Because thst's what matters right now.
