So, is anyone surprised to learn that the NSA’s secret tracking of cell phone activity wasn’t limited to Verizon? The Wall Street Journal reports tonight that both AT&T and Sprint are being mined for data as well, so that “every time the majority of Americans makes a call, NSA gets a record of the location, the number called, the time of the call and the length of the conversation.”

so ~330MN US customers, by my rough count, per WSJ: AT&T 107.3MN wireless+31.2MN land. Verizon 98.9MN wireless+ 22.2MN land. Sprint 55MN

Also, sources tell the Wall Street Journal that the NSA cataloged credit-card transactions, although it’s unclear if that was part of an ongoing data mining effort or a “one-shot” collection effort.
You credit card transactions are being tracked, too: http://t.co/MitP1dukDo via @WSJ

Said it before, I'll say it again: the only truly secure method of long-distance communication is definitely carrier pigeon (You're welcome)
