Dr. Christopher Swindell of Marshall University lists media ethics among his areas of expertise, so he’d know better than we do if it’s ethical to call for violence against members of the NRA in an op-ed piece. “I am a peaceable man,” he writes in yesterday’s Charleston Gazette, but then indulges in the sort of violent rhetoric that got “half-wit half-term quitter Sarah Palin” in so much hot water with the Democrats.
If you thought the IRS was justified in using its power to target conservative groups for harassment, move over. Swindell accuses the NRA of treason and urges the government to use the full force of its military to put down those “advocates of armed rebellion” who walk among us.
To turn the song lyric they so love to quote back on them, “We’ll put a boot in your —, it’s the American way.”
Except it won’t be a boot. It’ll be an M1A Abrams tank, supported by an F22 Raptor squadron with Hellfire missiles. Try treason on for size. See how that suits. And their assault arsenal and RPGs won’t do them any good.

Oh, that Second Amendment thing again. Why won’t you crazies give up on that thing? President Obama is the head of the “duly elected government of the United States of America,” after all, so just do what he says unless you want a Hellfire missile headed your way. And look out, people of Crete: he’s had enough of “knuckle-dragging Cretan talk” as well. Consider yourselves warned.
