The Eiffel Tower was evacuated today and placed on lockdown after police received a bomb threat. Nearly 10,000 people visited the structure today, so there were plenty of reports from disappointed and frightened tourists.

According to RT.com, around 1,500 people had to be cleared from the tower after an anonymous caller claimed a bomb was set to go off at 9:30 p.m. local time. That hour has come and gone, and webcams show the Eiffel Tower very much intact.
