Comedian Patton Oswalt’s tweet is a compliment, in a way: despite his being an “evil hop-frog,” Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia doesn’t seem convinced that the sole purpose of marriage is procreation. Well, that’s not quite the entire argument, but why fret over semantics?
@pattonoswalt too many assholes in the equation is the issue for some #ignorant people. Lack of a vagina is unsettling to some it seems

@pattonoswalt that's my FAVORITE argument! I got married to breed like livestock, obviously, what other reason is there?

@pattonoswalt So all marriages not making babies are breaking the law?

Even the Los Angeles Times seemed disappointed that the “irascible” and “famously acid-tongued” Scalia was “surprisingly tame” during arguments over Proposition 8 and DOMA. Maybe he’s not such an evil hop-frog after all? Now that that’s settled, Oswalt can get back to making gay jokes about Marcus Bachmann and the rest of Twitter can continue tweeting Scalia death wishes.
