After the presidential campaign, we’d thought we’d had enough of polls to last us a lifetime, but this new set of numbers from CBS News is worth a look. Of those surveyed, three-quarters say they’re either angry or dissatisfied with the way things are going in Washington, yet 57 percent say they approve of the job President Obama is doing. We weren’t aware that he was doing much — maybe that’s what so many people approve of. Thirty-seven percent say they disapprove of Obama’s job performance.

Maybe it’s the president’s tendency to limit his public appearances to the aftermath of tragedies, such as Superstorm Sandy, the Newtown, Conn., massacre, and PSY’s Christmas performance that gives him an image boost. Congress has no such support, though, and suffers for it.
Polls also shows 81% disapprove of the job Congress is doing; 11% approve.

Surprising no one, Republicans get the blame for the lack of progress in Washington, D.C.
Poll shows 47% blame Republicans in Congress for Washington gridlock, 24% blame Pres Obama/Dems; 21% blame both sides equally.
