We’re sure that NPR White House correspondent Ari Shapiro wasn’t trying to take a cheap shot at vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan with that caption, and that it’s not at all a sly wink to Ryan’s distinction as “biggest brown-noser” in his high school yearbook. Just two planes on the tarmac, that’s all.

Wait a second; now we’re not so sure. This is the same NPR reporter who back in May tweeted a photo of Mitt Romney on the front page of a newspaper, juxtaposed with a sign advertising a week-long series on “The Serious Side of Bullying.” Crazy coincidence, huh?

Speaking of bullying, the White House’s favorite anti-bullying advocate Dan Savage had the following Twitter exchange with Shapiro recently.
