Both the Obama and Romney campaigns suspended their advertising in Colorado today in response to the Aurora theater shooting. But even as the crowd at Obama’s campaign rally responded to his somber statement with ill-advised cheers and applause, Cher just couldn’t help politicizing Romney’s response.
Cher’s tweets aren’t renowned for their attention to grammar, but there’s something very “Dear Leader-y” about referring in capital letters to the president’s “Great Sadness.”
One follower was kind enough to translate (while shaking her head).
@cher Obama is compassionate and genuine whereas Romney is just looking for the next teleprompter to tell him what to say #smh

A tragedy is a terrible thing to waste. There must be a way to blame Bush here somewhere. AR-15, AK-47, whatever.

Soon after, Cher followed Obama’s lead and suspended her own campaign against Romney for the day. Stay tuned for more insight into Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s Romney’s offshore accounts.
