It’s not often that religious issues trend, but as members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) meet in Pittsburgh this week to hammer out policy at the church’s 220th General Assembly, attendees and online viewers are live-Tweeting their reactions and driving #GA220 into the trending topics.

Not all of the tweets seem to be related to church business, though.

The assembly necessarily covers a wide range of social and religious issues in a short time span, including abortion, same-sex marriage and church investments. A quick sampling of tweets shows a wide range of individual opinions.

Other tweets, though, show that it’s not always easy to pay attention when church is involved.

While there is plenty of policy to be knocked out, can we stop for a moment to agree that bow ties are awesome?
