Singer/songwriter Frank Ocean has apparently come out of the closet via a poignant post to his Tumblr account.
In a lengthy block of plain text simply entitled “thank you’s,” Ocean reminisces about a summer four years ago spent with a man: “By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping, no negotiating with the feeling.”
Although the Tumblr post was made today, within the text Ocean mentions that he’s writing on December 27, 2011. A previous post seems to indicate the piece was written to be included in the liner notes to upcoming album “Channel Orange,” but rumors inspired him to post the piece.

BASEDGOD WAS RIGHT. we’re all a bunch of golden million dollar babies. my hope is that the babies born these days will inherit less of the bullshit than we did. anyhow, what i’m about to post is for anyone who cares to read. it was intended to fill the thank you’s section in my album credits, but with all the rumors going round.. i figured it’d be good to clarify…
Aside from being a solo artist, Ocean is associated with hip hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (OFWGKTA). Odd Future rapper Tyler, the Creator made waves in the Twitterverse last year by starting a beef with openly gay sister duo Tegan and Sara. Tyler responded to Tegan and Sara’s criticisms of his lyrics as homophobic by tweeting, “If Tegan And Sara Need Some Hard Dick, Hit Me Up!”

Syd the Kyd, Odd Future’s sole female member, is an out lesbian.
Whatever sides were taken in that beef, Twitter seems to be supportive of Ocean’s post.
I only started listening to Frank Ocean about a month ago so I'm no super-fan, but this letter gave me full on chills: http://t.co/2bW0GPME
