Comedian Stephen Colbert wanted to be a bit ironic when he compared rental car company policies to gun policies. And, of course, it was done in a typical anti-gunner, lefty fashion.
I’m surprised the NRA was affiliated with car rental companies at all, considering Hertz and Avis enforce tyrannical rules like "age restrictions" and "having a license."

Andddd the gun control debate quickly ensued.
Please show me where transportation is a constitutionally protected right
— old salt and smoke (@travisarnold1) February 27, 2018
Oh, wait. It’s not.
Acting like all guns should be protected by an amendment written over 200 years ago is ludicrous. Guns have changed since our constitution was written. #TimeForChange
— Vax'ilcow ? (@Blazecrusade) February 27, 2018
If guns shouldn’t be protected by a document written 200 years ago, then your speech shouldn’t be protected either.
Same logic applies.
So the freedom of speech shouldn’t be extended to electronic devices?
— old salt and smoke (@travisarnold1) February 27, 2018
Apparently not.
Are you seriously trying to compare freedom of speech to tools that can kill people en mass?
— Vax'ilcow ? (@Blazecrusade) February 27, 2018
You can’t have the First Amendment without the Second. Simple as that.
I’m shrieking at such a high volume
— Hoey Claus ?? (@Loeybug) February 27, 2018
Sound horrible.

So we’ve heard.

A smushed turd.
https://twitter.com/rivernoz/status/968343360695144449
That’s why gun control groups were SOOO effective in the 2016 election cycle.
Oh. Wait. That was in their head.

Based on his tweets, yes. Yes, it is.
Could you BE any more partisan?
— The Artist Formerly Known As Michael Brighton (@Illisconsin) February 27, 2018
Definitely not. He has been in partisan territory for a LONG time.

BAM!
Completely weird I know. Especially since the 28th Amendment says “The right of the people, to rent and own cars, shall not be infringed”. Please stop comparing privileges to rights.
— RyanRI (@ryansousa4) February 27, 2018
Rights >>>>>> privileges.
Hey #Ammosexual – there is no constitutional right to:
1. Buy guns without background checks
2. Buy or own an assault rifle
3. Buy or own high capacity mags
4. Buy or own silencers
5. Open carry
6. Concealed carry
So shut the hell up on the 2nd Amendment bullshit.
— Robert Fx Challender (@TheMMChief) February 27, 2018
Gun owners have accepted background checks are here to stay. In fact, organizations like the NRA have actually ADVOCATED for fixing the background check system that currently has holes in it.
So, try again.
I know right??? Those bastards also said I couldn't rent 6 cars for myself because "no one needs that many cars."
— Sean (@sbABetterLeader) February 27, 2018
HA!

Have you ever bought a gun? Probably not.
You also have to have a credit card to rent a car!
— Susan Ash (@wise_ashes) February 27, 2018
What does that have to do with anything? You can buy a gun with a credit card too.
