Two days ago, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim were killed as they left a Young Diplomats reception at the Capital Jewish Museum. They were young, and in love, and about to be engaged.
Instead of a wedding and a future together, two families are now planning funerals for Lischinsky and Milgrim, thanks to a radical Leftist gunman, Elias Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is not the first violent Leftist to make the news. He's just the latest in a long line of so-called 'progressives' who use violence -- both rhetorical and physical -- as a means to their political ends. In December, Luigi Mangione gunned down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and the Left justified it because sometimes health insurers deny claims and that's an 'act of violence.' More than 40% of young voters approved of the cold-blooded murder, and I feel safe betting on who they voted for.
Time and again, the Left justifies this violence for various and sundry reasons. In the case of Lischinsky and Milgrim, they had ties to Israel and were therefore complicit in the 'genocide' happening in Gaza.
Now, UPenn climate scientist Michael Mann is stepping up, saying that President Trump's plan to shutter the Department of Education is a 'second amendment territory.'

So much craziness on Bluesky. pic.twitter.com/k7yb8CgJ3l
On one hand, I understand why Mann is cranky. After years of filing frivolous lawsuits against National Review, he was ordered to pay over $500,000 to the outlet to recoup legal fees and attorney costs.
On the other hand, the Trump administration is well within its rights to dismantle and discontinue a government agency that has lorded over the utter ruination of American education.
Doing so is not, nor will it ever be, 'Second Amendment territory.'
I must've missed the NBC News story on the Left-wing hate groups and their influence on the mainstream. Because NBC News was quick to run a piece about 'male supremacist,' 'white supremacist,' and other 'Right-wing hate groups' (citing the radical Left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center) less than 48 hours after Lischinsky and Milgrim were gunned down by a guy spouting the same rhetoric we've heard on college campuses since October 2023.
Or maybe, just like CNN's Donie O'Sullivan, they just can't seem to find examples of Left-wing bias, even though Helen Keller could.
But it's long past time we had a serious national conversation about Left-wing violence in this country. The sitting president of the United States was the target of two failed assassination attempts. Major cities burned to the ground a few years ago. Healthcare CEOs are being shot in the back, and now it's not safe to be affiliated with the Israeli Embassy in our nation's capital, because a keffiyeh-wearing Leftist might shoot you dead, too.
Mangione and Rodriguez will face justice, and Mann should -- at a minimum -- be questioned.
Failing to quell this rampant Left-wing violence will have far-reaching, long-lasting impact on America, and none of it good.
