Stories about the victims of the Ft. Hood massacre being denied combat veteran benefits are not new. The classification of the terrorist attack as “workplace violence” and the refusal to issue Purple Hearts to the wounded have been widely aired. What is new, however, is the claim that the Department of Defense has ordered the families of the wounded to refrain from talking to the press about their plight.

Autumn Manning, whose husband was shot six times by Nidal Hasan at Ft. Hood, is outraged, and she’s getting a big reaction.

Those tweets got the attention of conservative talk show host Dana Loesch. For those that don’t already know, making Dana angry is a bad idea, and in this case her anger resulted in a post that is now the top story on RedState.

Manning, for her part, is defiant:

Support is pouring in from all over Twitter.

It will be very interesting to see how DoD responds.
