Sanders accused Arpaio of an “ambush” during his wife Jane’s visit to Arizona, behavior that was “un-American” according to the self-described “Democratic Socialist” running for president:
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders late Thursday blasted controversial Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, accusing him of engaging in “un-American and uncivilized” behavior after a meeting between Arpaio and Sanders’s wife.
[…]
Jane Sanders said that Arpaio showed up unexpectedly once learning of her plans to visit the site. Arpaio quickly sought to offer her a “personal tour,” and Sanders said she asked about racial profiling and other issues.
Was some irony spotted? Just a little:

It's a term only the "un-Americans" can use, like other disparaging terms of endearment… https://t.co/hmheNbEIj3
