As Twitchy reported earlier today, President Obama issued an executive order to lift sanctions on Iran after the International Atomic Energy Agency determined that Iran had fulfilled the steps to which it had committed in the controversial nuclear deal negotiated last year.

Secretary of State John Kerry stopped short of calling it a glorious victory, but he did say that, “as a result of the actions taken since last July, the United States, our friends and allies in the Middle East, and the entire world are safer because the threat of the nuclear weapon has been reduced.”

President Obama was expected to make some sort of statement today as well, but the White House and press secretary Josh Earnest both tweeted a video explaining the Iran deal, with Earnest adding that America has taken a step toward a safer world.
