It ain’t easy being Barack Obama. What with Congress and all …
WH @PressSec says of Pres Obama closing #Gitmo: "This is a goal he would have accomplished some time ago had Congress not got in the way."

Here’s what Earnest said:
“His goal is to have [Gitmo] closed on his watch, as he promised. And that’s been our goal since, I think, the president’s second full day in office. It continues to be our goal today. The truth is, this is a goal we would’ve accomplished some time ago had Congress not gotten in the way.”
You see? The president could’ve gotten so much more peacemaking done so much sooner, if only that damn legislative branch hadn’t interfered!
Bipartisan majority in Congress opposes plan, as do most Americans. "Getting in the way" is how our republic works. https://t.co/mJBBpNUrX6

Please tell me how Congress "got in the way" when Dems controlled both chambers and had a Senate super-majority. https://t.co/VzBa9LjY0U

Obama’s biggest disappointment is he can’t go full dictator.
I’m stunned. https://t.co/ibFeSstL2y
