President Obama emerged around 6:30 p.m. to address the press regarding the lethal mass shooting at Umpqua Community College Thursday. His speech quickly moved from an expression of sympathy to a show of anger and frustration to a call to politicize the issue.

Calling for more gun control laws, Pres Obama said he knows he'll be accused of politicizing the issue. He said it "should be politicized."

"This is something we should politicize. It is relevant to our common life together, to the body politic."

"This is something we should politicize" -Obama in very Obama mode predicting that he'll be dinged for politicizing the OR shooting.

Obama: "This is something we SHOULD politicize…this is a political choice that we make to allow this to happen every few months"

Gee Obama, if only you knew someone in government, maybe he could solve these problems you complain about.
— jon gabriel (@exjon) October 1, 2015
Nice try, but it’s the fault of Congress for not doing more to pass gun control; and since you elected your representatives, it’s pretty much your fault.
We have failed Obama guys.

Obama cost his party over 70 seats in congress & the majority of state legislatures. But let's help him out guys.

Obama just called for Australian style gun bans but is saying he's not being political. Ok.
— Stephen Gutowski (@StephenGutowski) October 1, 2015
The President of the United States just cited Australia and the complete confiscation of guns on national TV. Okay. Try it.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) October 1, 2015
I will say it's clarifying to see the president admit to willfully politicizing an event so he can confiscate guns of law-abiding people.
— Sean Davis (@seanmdav) October 1, 2015
Barack Obama just suggested confiscation of legally owned guns on live television.
— Andrew (@TheFoyeEffect) October 1, 2015
President Obama believes in the confiscation of guns in America. That's not hyperbole. That's fact. @93wibc #OregonShooting

Remember: when progressives tell you not to politicize something, it's because they don't want you getting in the way of them doing it.

Guy who called Americans bitter clingers in 2008 now wants us to think about his comments. Get lost.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) October 1, 2015
President Obama did acknowledge responsible gun owners, all of whom are apparently hunters and not tools of the NRA.
Thank you @BarackObama for asking hunters, sportsmen & those with guns for personal safety to question #NRA agenda #UCCShooting #gunsense

This is the Constitution's fault you guys
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) October 1, 2015
@redsteeze When will we learn? When?

We have become numb to this — so numb that the president made no mention whatsoever of the 50 shootings in Chicago over the weekend (and the weekend before that).
@redsteeze When he decides to give this same speech in the south side of Chicago, then I'll listen.
