As Twitchy reported, the NYT detonated the mother of all bombs today with its exposé about Marco Rubio and his wife’s traffic citations. Quelle scandale!

The Washington Free Beacon’s Brent Scher noticed something particularly interesting about the timing of the Times’ story:

From the Free Beacon:

The New York Times Friday report that Republican Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and his wife Jeanette have been cited 17 times for traffic violations was written after the citations were pulled by liberal opposition research firm American Bridge, according to Miami-Dade County court records.

Records show that each of the citations mentioned by the New York Times were pulled in person by American Bridge operatives on May 26, 2015.

So, just a coincidence, you guys? That’s certainly what the NYT is going with:

Yeah. Right.

Nice try, NYT. But you’re gonna have to do better than that.

It sure looks that way.

You know, NYT, you guys could clear all this up pretty easily if you wanted to.

We’re guessing we’ll have to wait a while.

Update:

Yeah, sorry, NYT. That still doesn’t quite cut it.
