Seattle police chief: ‘Demonstration management’ at May Day protests ‘has turned into a riot’
#MayDay has been “celebrated” across the country, but it’s something particularly special in Seattle, Washington every year, as can be seen in traditions like the boarding up of the Starbucks Roastery.
Despite that one precaution, Seattle’s mayor welcomed citizens into the city to do business and advised merchants to maintain regular hours.
Plenty of shops were treated to impromptu paint jobs like this one.
Seattle Police were kept particularly busy trailing the parade of anarchists on their bicycles.
