A Boston police officer is “fighting for his life” tonight after he was shot in the face during a traffic stop:
A Boston police officer was shot in the face and two other people were also shot, one fatally, in a confrontation in Roxbury tonight, officials said.
The incident began when police stopped a car on Humboldt Avenue near Crawford Street, Police Commissioner William B. Evans said. The stop led to gunfire that killed one suspect and left another person with minor wounds, he said. The other person’s role in the drama was not known tonight.
The officer was shot in the face, according to Superintendent in Chief William Gross. Evans said he was “fighting for his life.”
