In mid-August, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon signed an executive order authorizing the use of National Guard troops to quell protests in Ferguson.

In advance of a grand jury decision concerning whether officer Darren Wilson will be charged in the shooting of Michael Brown, Gov. Nixon has again activated the National Guard:

According to the Mayor of St. Louis, the National Guard will not be on the “front lines” of any protests following the grand jury’s decision:
