Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot’s profile received a huge boost this weekend as attendees of San Diego Comic-Con received their first glimpse of Gadot in character as Wonder Woman in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

In a much more personal moment last Friday, however, Gadot posted the message “Shabbat Shalom Israel” to Twitter, along with an accompanying photo and a message on Facebook.

From Facebook:

I am sending my love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens. Especially to all the boys and girls who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts conducted by Hamas, who are hiding like cowards behind women and children…We shall overcome!!! Shabbat Shalom!

Not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for the hate tweets to emerge.

Some did express their support for Gadot, though.
