Today, during a joint presser in Brussels with UK Prime Minister David Cameron, President Obama had this to say about the controversy over the Bergdahl swap:
PresObama on Bergdahl swap: "I'm never surprised by controversies that are whipped up in Washington. That's par for the course."
— Shannon Bream (@ShannonBream) June 5, 2014
As for criticism of the deal to free Bergdahl, Pres Obama said he's "never surprised by controversies whipped up in Washington."
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) June 5, 2014
So Obama is not sorry for releasing terrorists for Bergdahl, says he isn't surprised by controversies "whipped up by Washington."
— Ashe Schow (@AsheSchow) June 5, 2014
He’s not sorry. At all:
President again strongly defends #Bergdahl prisoner swap: "we saw an opportunity, we seized it. and i make no apologies for it."
— Ed Henry (@edhenry) June 5, 2014
Nice double down, bro. RT @CuffyMeh: Obama' "No apologies." So there's that.
— Tyler McNally (@Tyler_McNally) June 5, 2014
Citizens, including Bergdahl’s own platoon mates, are rightfully concerned about the prisoner swap. And with his flippant “whipped up” dismissal, the president is basically spitting in their faces.
President Obama dismisses any honest, serious and justifiable questions on Bergdahl as a 'whipped up controversy.' Sigh.
— Rory Cooper (@rorycooper) June 5, 2014
Oh, the #TalibanSWAP is just a "whipped up controversy" in Washington. Sure, Mr. President.
— pinecohen (@pinecohen) June 5, 2014
Whipped up? So it's "phony"? MT @markknoller Pres Obama said he's "never surprised by controversies whipped up in Washington."
— 7th level brian (@icantbrain) June 5, 2014
Just another phony scandal? MT @DinahLord: Now #obama speaking at #G7 summit calling the Bergdahl prisoner swap a WHIPPED UP CONTROVERSY.
— Shoebox (@Shoeboxnre) June 5, 2014

— Amanda Carpenter (@amandacarpenter) June 5, 2014
He just called it a "whipped up controversy." Nothingever his fault.
— Depoguy (@depoguy) June 5, 2014
@markknoller Ignoring the law = a whipped up controversy. Got it.
— PrivilegedGreg (@murgatr0id) June 5, 2014
"Whipped up"?! "Not surprised what Washington whips up"! POTUS answers question in Bussels about Bergdahl. Our national security is serious!
— Rosanna (@RGChronicles) June 5, 2014
In the Barack Obama dictionary, "whipped up controversy" = "facts I don't like." #bergdahl
— John Ennis (@JohnEnnisIV) June 5, 2014
Obama refers to vets speaking out on Bergdahl as "Washington whipping up controversy." Heavens.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) June 5, 2014
"Whipped up controversies". That's rich.#Bergdahl
— Suze (@suze109) June 5, 2014
Obama thinks he can just brush this off with "whipped up controversy." Not going to work this time.
— Kathleen McKinley (@KatMcKinley) June 5, 2014
To say it's been "whipped up" is to discount the accounts/opinions of those who would know best.
— Jessica Heddings (@JessicaHeddings) June 5, 2014
"I'm never surprised by controversies that are whipped up in Washington." 'Cause I started all of them. Period. -Barack
— KRenner (@KRenner2) June 5, 2014
Insanity if he can't recognize at least one problem with it RT @AsheSchow: Obama: #Bergdahl is a "whipped up" controversy.
