Idiots? On the Internet? Say it ain’t so!
A rare winter storm paralyzed the unprepared Atlanta area yesterday and today, leading to nightmarish commutes, stranded residents and hazardous conditions on the roads. In response to reports of 911 overload, the Atlanta Police Department invited people to use the power of social media to reach out with reports of emergencies.
For some, it turned out to be an effective use of social media.
But then came the idiots.
Cute. Really freakin’ cute.
This being Twitter, plenty of people felt the need to reply to the police department’s tweet, clogging its Twitter mentions with oh-so-insightful commentary.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta P.D. continues to reach out via Twitter and is now urging people to call 911 to report emergencies.
