Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor took some by surprise on New Year’s Eve by issuing a temporary stay blocking enforcement of the Obamacare contraception mandate. That stay was made after an emergency appeal by the Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged in Denver, Colo.

Sotomayor ordered a response from the administration by Friday, and as expected, the Obama administration filed a response to unblock the contraceptive mandate, arguing that the nuns have no legal or factual basis for their objections. And so, the battle between the Obama administration and a group of nuns goes on.
