“Kinky Boots” is trending this fine Thanksgiving morning. Why and what is it? The official website describes “Kinky Boots” the Tony Award-winning musical as a “funny, heartwarming new musical about being true to yourself. Music by Cyndi Lauper. Book by Harvey Fierstein. Directed by Jerry Mitchell.” The cast of singing drag queens performed during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade — leaving a lot of viewers scratching their heads, shaking their heads, and wondering what happened to the family-friendly floats and balloons.
