Welp, looks like he blew it again.

Earlier today, word got around that NYC mayoral wannabe Anthony Weiner’s online exploits may not have ended after he resigned from Congress. Well, lo and behold, he’s admitted that the speculation had merit:

El Weiñer’s campaign has released the following statement:

“I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have. As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress. While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me. I’ve apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward.”

Why didn’t we know about this sooner? Well, we’d like to think it’s because Weiner learned his lesson after getting busted the first time and decided he should try using an alias. And, well, of all the aliases in the world, he reportedly chose the very best one:

Now, Weiner made no mention of his debonair alter-ego’s name in his statement, but let’s face it: “Carlos Danger”? Pure genius.

We have to believe. As far as the world is concerned, Anthony Weiner is Carlos Danger.

And now that his cover has been — ahem — blown, we’d be foolish to ignore the endless loads of comedic material:

¡Ay caramba!

CarlosDanger.com has already been snatched up:

By The Blaze, no less:

And, naturally, there are parody Twitter accounts:

Will erections have consequences for him this time around?

Stay tuned to find out!
