#VonfinrmationWeMuch “@Toure: The dialogue is driven by vonfinrmation”
— Jon McC (@fatdaddybulldog) June 8, 2013
Touré has taken a break from thinking about Mitt Romney to reminisce about the early days of the Tea Party and its spiritual ancestor, the late talk show host Morton Downey Jr.
Watching Evocateur, a great doc on Morton Downey, Jr., the TV forerunner to Springer, Stern, Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Savage, Alex Jones…
— (((Touré))) (@Toure) June 8, 2013
Morton Downey Jr is Glenn Beck x Jerry Springer. He's one of the first media expressions of what would become the Tea Party.

We sense a lecture coming on.
The dialogue in America is growing ever corrosive. We can't hear each other over the yelling, name calling, demagoguery, the anger…
— (((Touré))) (@Toure) June 8, 2013
Morton Downey Jr wasn't helpful. Nor were Gingrich, O'Reilly, Hannity, Beck, Savage, Limbaugh. Their acts validate a dangerous path.
— (((Touré))) (@Toure) June 8, 2013
Nothing divisive about that list, huh? Funny how there are no liberal talkers to be found along that “dangerous path.”
The dialogue is driven by confirmation bias, people drawn to sources affirming what they already believe, thus driving us farther apart.
— (((Touré))) (@Toure) June 8, 2013
It’s worth noting that Touré works for MSNBC, the network found by a Pew study to dedicate 85 percent of its airtime to liberal commentary, and the channel is working hard to weed out that little bit of straight news that slips past. “Our brand is not that,” explained president Phil Griffin recently.
So, who’s going to lean forward and end the division?
Hey @Toure You should really have a heart to heart with your comrades at @msnbc , then. You all excel in it.

@adamsbaldwin yet @Toure works for the most dividing and partisan network in existence.
