It’s no secret by now that the verified @BarackObama Twitter account isn’t Barack Obama, but rather the “independent” organization Organizing for Action that just happens to use his name and image. We can understand the confusion; they both sound alike, what with the sitting president complaining that “you can’t change Washington from the inside” and OFA accusing “Washington” of ignoring the will of the people (and the president).

About that vast majority who want something called “commonsense gun safety reform”? It must be shrinking, because just last week @BarackObama was tweeting that an astounding 92 percent of Americans supported the Senate’s gun control legislation, and now it’s down to 90 — or less.

So, what does it mean to “keep fighting”? The first step is to visit (which also isn’t run by Barack Obama) and sign up, campaign style:

A minority of senators stood with the gun lobby and blocked a proposal to expand background checks for gun sales—something that more than 90 percent of Americans support. But that was just round one. We outnumber them—and we can win this if we’re as passionate and as organized as the special interests standing in the way. Add your name—tell Congress you’re not backing down now.

The campaign that never ends is revving up again, it seems.
