Twitter users noticed that something was off with tweets from BBC Weather on Thursday.

Other tweets on the hacked account indicate the pro-Assad Syrian Electronic Army is responsible.

The SEA has not claimed responsibility on its Twitter account.


BBC social media editor Chris Hamilton confirms the BBC Weather account was hacked.


Twitter users joke that it’s a little hard to tell if this was a hacking or not.


BBC Arabic also appears to have been hacked.
