Prior to this evening, a lot of conservatives were skeptical about Hillary Clinton’s concussion. Now Clinton is in the hospital for a concussion-related blood clot and many liberals are rubbing conservatives’ faces in it.

Jonathan Chait, a writer for New York magazine, wonders how his fellow liberals would react if the shoe were on the other foot.

Chait’s liberal readers don’t agree. In their view, no reasonable person could have doubted Clinton’s concussion. What’s more, they argue, no liberal would ever doubt the word of a Republican official who avoided testimony by claiming illness or injury. (Because when Republicans have health problems, liberals are all class.)

Meanwhile, some conservatives are not in an apologetic mood:

When Clinton gets better (and we hope she gets better soon), we look forward to discussing whether she deserves the trust her supporters think she is due.
