Wow. Who knew? Politics are just like Bill Clinton’s speech last night: a living, breathing organism.

The Touré-endorsed Julia addressed the Democratic National Convention today and let fly one of the most memorably lame lines of the conference so far:

Look, I get it. Whether it’s school, work, family, we’ve all got a lot on our minds. People say to me, “I’m just too busy to think about politics.” But here’s the thing: You may not be thinking about politics, but politics is thinking about you.

Awwww … warm fuzzies for everyone! Everything’s peachy keen, because we all belong to the government, and politics care. They care. Like a big brother, you might say.

Washington’s speech certainly had its fair share of admirers:

Until you’ve reached that point in your life when you’ve made enough money.

Have at it. Meanwhile, most Twitterers were thoroughly weirded out:

Proud anti-Julia Dana Loesch found Washington’s line to be an appropriate feather in the DNC’s cap:

Yeesh.
